A long-established restaurant where you can enjoy the unique Ashitaba of Hachijo Island

Senryo is a restaurant where you can savor dishes that utilize the famous Ashitaba from Hachijo Island. In particular, the tempura made with Ashitaba has an exquisite aroma and a subtle bitterness that pairs perfectly with udon. In a warm atmosphere where locals gather, you can enjoy traditional Japanese flavors in a nostalgic setting. This is a representative establishment of Hachijo Island that offers a heartwarming experience every time you visit.

The interior of the restaurant has a wide entrance and a somewhat mysterious and open atmosphere. It's exciting to choose from not only soba but also udon, curry, fried rice, and set meals. The tempura made from the island's ashitaba is crispy and fragrant, and the large shrimp adds to the satisfaction. The old-fashioned curry, which has a taste of dashi, is gentle and comforting. The homemade takuan has a deep flavor from fermentation, and the kimchi is also handmade, making it hard to stop eating. Overall, I felt that the deliciousness exceeded my expectations, and it is an easy-to-enter dining place.
