A Cozy Izakaya Offering Heartwarming Homemade Dishes

At Izakaya Touka, which recently opened in Shinmachi, you can savor heartwarming homemade dishes. The menu features a variety of comforting items, such as spicy simmered daikon and satsuma-age, as well as crispy fried chicken, reminiscent of a mother's dining table. Guests can enjoy their meals in a cozy tatami room, and the thoughtful touch of allowing free refills adds to the pleasant experience.

I was drawn in by the aroma wafting through the alley lined with drinking establishments. Once I settled into a tatami mat seat, gentle-tasting stews and crunchy salads arrived one after another, bringing a sense of relief. The fried chicken with a crispy coating and the incredibly fresh sashimi made it impossible to put my chopsticks down. The bubbling spicy hot pot was piled high with ingredients, and I appreciated the thoughtful service when I asked for a refill, as they smiled and added more. The freshly baked large sweet cake I received on my way out was fragrant on the outside and had a refined red bean paste inside, making me feel happy even while walking. With the combination of warm home-cooked dishes and freshly made snacks, my satisfaction was high, and it’s a wonderful place I want to recommend to my friends.
