Shimmeian is a popular soba restaurant rooted in the local community, located in Hojo, Tateyama City. The interior is enveloped in a calm, traditional Japanese atmosphere, warmly welcoming visitors. The soba, with its exquisite texture, tantalizes the appetite with its pleasant aroma. Additionally, the tempura is crispy and offers a rich flavor, making it a standout dish.

It's a cozy little shop with the warmth of wood, making it a relaxing place. There are table seats and a raised area where you can take off your shoes and sit comfortably, which is delightful. The soba, in the style of Sarashina, is smooth with just the right amount of chewiness, and the aroma spreads as soon as you slurp it. The broth, rich in dashi, has a light aftertaste, and when diluted with soba-yu, the umami becomes even more pronounced. The tempura, both shrimp and vegetables, is crispy and pairs perfectly with the soba. There is also parking space, making it easy to stop by, and I was completely satisfied both in my stomach and my heart.
