In a room full of Showa-era atmosphere, I was able to sit comfortably at a sunken kotatsu. There were earthen walls, old pots, and rice cookers, making me feel as if I had come to a nostalgic home. Brown rice and miso soup were served, along with a small plate of various side dishes, all of which highlighted the natural flavors of the vegetables. The lotus root balls and daikon cakes were enjoyable in texture, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, which made me very satisfied. The pumpkin croquettes with millet were also light and crispy, and I was happy that they tasted good even when cold. I feel this is a wonderful place perfect for slowly enjoying gentle-flavored Japanese cuisine.
