The long-established fish cake shop in Nakajima Renbai, Hakodate, is known for its freshly made fish products. The non-vacuum-packed fish cakes allow you to fully appreciate the flavor of the fish, bringing happiness with every bite. The assorted set is perfect for when you're a little hungry or as a snack, making it hard to resist reaching for more. The specialty squid menchi becomes a wonderful side dish just by adding some vegetables, and it's larger and more satisfying than expected. At home, I tried grilling it a bit in the fish grill, which made the surface crispy and enhanced its aroma significantly. The staff were friendly and pleasant, and I enjoyed the time spent choosing while chatting with them.
