The thick and hearty chijimi allows the umami of the ingredients to thoroughly infuse the batter, making it exquisite. While wandering down a narrow street, I was drawn in by a fragrant smell and decided to stop by. The finished chijimi was thick, with a fluffy and chewy texture. The umami of the seafood seeped into the batter, and with each bite, the flavor burst forth. The mixed version was also packed with ingredients, and the balance of vegetables and meat was exquisite. The freshly made hotteok, with its cinnamon aroma and brown sugar sweetness, was perfect for dessert. I was also comforted by a friendly little kitten playing under the bench, and I returned home with a warm feeling.
