A hidden izakaya near Minami-Miyazaki Station

Nagatomo is an izakaya located in the arcade street near Minami-Miyazaki Station, where you can enjoy fresh sashimi and a variety of tempura. The interior is spacious, featuring counter seats, table seating, and tatami rooms, creating a lively atmosphere. The owner manages the place alone, allowing you to savor local dishes made with regional ingredients. It's a comforting spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and casually enjoy the delicious flavors of Miyazaki.

I opened the quietly glowing door on a narrow street a short walk from the station. Inside, it was clean and bright, surprisingly spacious with a counter, tables, and tatami seating. The first dish I ordered, beef tataki, was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, making me smile involuntarily. Next, I tried the grilled local chicken and chicken nanban, which had a savory flavor and a strong seasoning that paired perfectly with beer. The fried scallops were also crispy, and I could really taste the sweetness of the sea. I think it's a wonderful place where you can fully enjoy local cuisine with a wide variety of drinks in hand.
