A quiet place to enjoy authentic hand-made soba

Tamagawaya is a serene and flavorful soba restaurant located in a secluded area of Ouchi-juku. The hand-made soba has a firm texture and, when paired with its richly flavored broth, offers an unforgettable taste. Dishes like horse sashimi and negi soba, which highlight the quality of the ingredients, are also popular. This special spot provides a calming atmosphere for a relaxing experience.

There are seats where pets are allowed, and you can spend time comfortably indoors. The staff were friendly, and they quickly provided water for my dog, which was helpful. The specialty negi soba is a bit difficult to eat with the green onions, but the soba has a firm texture and a strong aroma, making it delicious. The tempura platter is exciting, featuring not only maitake mushrooms and pumpkin but also tempura of manju. The bear soup is mild and easy to eat, with a rich umami flavor that gradually spreads. It is located a bit further in, marked by a torii gate, and the calm atmosphere is lovely.
