A heartwarming old folk house cafe

Irori Cafe Riraku, a renovated folk house with a history of over 40 years and built 180 years ago, is located in the beautiful satoyama of Ukihwa. Its unique atmosphere allows you to enjoy dishes grilled in front of the irori (hearth) and homemade sweets, making it a charming spot. You can spend a pleasant time while feeling a sense of nostalgia. It's a popular destination worth visiting after passing through a narrow path.

I really liked the calm space with an irori (traditional Japanese hearth) in an old farmhouse in the satoyama (village forest). The sound of the charcoal is soothing to the heart, allowing for a relaxing time. The course features freshly grilled dishes that are fragrant, and the flavors of miso and yuzu pepper are excellent. The dumpling soup is rich and warm, providing a comforting feeling. The layout includes a dirt floor where you take off your shoes, creating a homely atmosphere that is pleasant to spend time in. The staff's service is also attentive, and I enjoyed the strawberry dessert as well.
