The calm, Japanese-style interior is adorned with retro posters and ukiyo-e noren, creating a comforting atmosphere the moment you enter. The soba noodles made from buckwheat flour from Otoineppu, Hokkaido, are fragrant and have a good texture. The chilled tanuki soba is generously served in a deep bowl, with colorful toppings like cucumber, kinshi tamago (shredded egg), and wakame seaweed that catch the eye. The well-balanced dipping sauce and the aroma of the tenkasu (tempura scraps) make it hard to put down the chopsticks. The rich soba broth enjoyed after the meal is also delightful, ensuring satisfaction until the very end. The attentive service from the staff in kimono is pleasant, making it a wonderful place to relax.
