A Western-style izakaya to enjoy in an adult hideaway

Gourmand Sakaba is a semi-basement izakaya that exudes a quiet, adult atmosphere, allowing you to spend a pleasant time under warm chandeliers. The carefully selected dishes, such as house-made oil sardines and juicy grilled Awa-odori chicken thighs, are all enticing, especially when paired with beer or wine. You can also enjoy friendly conversations with the master inside the cozy space. Despite its small size, this establishment offers a diverse range of Western-style menu items, making it a perfect place to discover unparalleled comfort.

When I descended into the half-basement, I was greeted by red curtains and a chandelier, and I felt excited by the adult atmosphere. The counter is central, and the chairs are comfortable, allowing for a relaxed experience even when alone. The master casually engages in conversation, which encourages me to enjoy more drinks. The grilled Awaodori chicken is plump and juicy, with a crispy and fragrant skin, perfectly complemented by the tomato sauce. The assortment of appetizers, including homemade oil sardines and smoked chicken thigh skewers, is abundant, making it easy to finish a beer. I was able to slowly savor delicious food and drinks in a calm space, and I truly had a happy time.
