A historic atmosphere with exquisite soba flavors

Sarashina is a long-established soba restaurant located in Sugamo, Tokyo, boasting over 100 years of history. The interior is spacious and refreshing, exuding a friendly atmosphere. The soba, made from high-quality ingredients sourced from Nagano, is available in a wide variety of options, and the balance with the dipping sauce is exquisite.

Walking through the shopping street, I feel relieved by the traditional and calm atmosphere. The soba that was served first has a good texture and a strong aroma, which makes me happy. The light batter of the tempura, both the vegetables and shrimp, is perfectly crispy, bringing a smile to my face. The rich curry broth has a perfect balance of sweetness and umami, making the rice go down easily. The dipping sauce poured into a wide bowl has a rich aroma of dashi, and when diluted with soba water at the end, it is exceptional. The cheerful staff provided attentive service, allowing me to enjoy my time until the very end.
