After walking a little from the station, I found a hidden gem of a restaurant where the smiling staff welcomed me, and I felt relieved. Just watching the lively pufferfish swimming in the large aquarium in the center of the restaurant whetted my appetite. The first dish, thinly sliced pufferfish, was beautifully translucent with a great texture, and the homemade ponzu with herbs harmonized refreshingly. The grilled pufferfish roe was creamy and melted in my mouth with a perfect amount of salt, making it hard to put down my chopsticks. I thoroughly enjoyed the plump meat in the fried dishes and hot pot, realizing the depth of flavor that pufferfish offers. The finishing touch, a rice porridge, was concentrated with umami, and even when I was full, it was a delightful bowl that I could eat easily.
