As I climbed the stairs, I was excited to find a classic space that felt like a movie set. The furnishings and sofas themed around old Shanghai are lovely, and just sitting down lifts my spirits. The lu rou fan I had for lunch had a fragrant aroma of star anise and Chinese soy sauce, and the diced pork was deliciously rich. The crispy texture of the garlic chips pairs well with the flavorful braised egg. The rice was slightly firm, and the overall balance was very good. I could slowly enjoy Chinese tea from a pot, allowing for a calm and relaxing time.
