Satsuki is a cherished yakiniku izakaya located a bit away from Shiogama City. Upon entering the nostalgic Showa-era interior, you are greeted by a warm and homely atmosphere managed by a kind proprietress. The grilled meat, prepared with their original sauce, is exquisite, and you can enjoy heartwarming moments while chatting with regular customers.

I stopped by an old-fashioned yakiniku restaurant on the outskirts of town. As I passed through the noren (curtain), a Showa retro atmosphere enveloped me, and an elderly proprietress warmly welcomed me by herself. The gas-fired grill had just the right amount of heat, and the meat was fun to grill lightly one after another. As I grilled the offal, tongue, and short ribs, a savory aroma spread, and the special sauce paired perfectly with the rice. Small side dishes, miso soup, and pickles were also served, giving a sense of homely warmth. The leisurely conversation with the proprietress was pleasant, and it was such a happy moment that I forgot the time.
