I went to an izakaya serving Hachijo Island cuisine, located a short walk from Tsurumi Station. Upon opening the door, I was greeted by cheerful staff in a calm-lit interior. The menu offers a variety of options, including set meals and rice bowls, all generously portioned to fill you up. In particular, the rice bowl topped with mackerel namero and egg yolk has a spicy island chili pepper that adds a nice touch, making the rice even more enjoyable. The refreshing soba noodles made with ashitaba and the fish-flavored clear soup were also impressive. The sashimi and tempura were fresh, and I was very satisfied to enjoy the flavors of Hachijo Island.
