I was drawn in by the calm exterior of this place located in a hot spring town. Once inside, I was greeted by a counter and tatami seating, and the aroma of charcoal and lively atmosphere instantly lifted my spirits. While gazing at the board with recommended dishes on the wall, I ordered a sashimi platter and shirako ponzu, and the freshness of the ingredients filled my mouth with happiness. The shirako, in particular, was plump and paired perfectly with the acidity of the ponzu. The grilled beef short ribs and oversized grilled sanma (mackerel pike) released their umami with every bite, making the drinks flow freely. This izakaya offers a delightful combination of a bustling, casual vibe and carefully crafted dishes, leaving me completely satisfied.
