The hidden charm of irori cuisine

Located in Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Niwa no Tori is a hidden gem where you can enjoy local chicken cooked over an irori (traditional Japanese hearth). Nestled in the mountains, the dining experience in this beautiful, unobstructed location is exceptional. The joy of grilling tender, fresh local chicken over charcoal and the fragrant, exquisite kashiwa rice served alongside it make for a memorable meal.

We enjoyed the food very much. There seemed to be very few parking spaces and there were several cars waiting to park. The food was very good, but it was hot because it was summer. The smoke and heat made us burn. There were several families with small children during the summer vacation.

This is my second time, and I am satisfied. The cherry blossoms were nearly in full bloom and the location was perfect. The owner is very kind and the conversation was very relaxing. Next time I will visit with a different friend,

This was the third time for me to visit this restaurant, and I was very satisfied with the set meal in the nature of Yame. I had a set meal of char-grilled chicken, miso soup with lots of ingredients, and takikomi-gohan (rice cooked with chicken) in the nature of Yame. The staff at the restaurant was very helpful and I would like to return again.
