Exotic, nutty, floral and delicious. This is an unusual white grape, grown in the southern regions of Italy, where the added heat helps to ripen the grape to its full, waxy, rich and rounded style
A crisp, herbaceous and aromatic dry Sauvignon, made from grapes sourced from 2 vineyards in the cool climate Gascogny region. This is zesty and fresh with an almost Kiwi-like quality Think gooseberry and elderflower
A wonderfully lively and crisp version of Marlborough Sauvignon, made by the award-winning Pask winery, but bottled under a special label due to its blend of top cuvées of wine that were identified during the selection from the winemakers own family vineyards
Soft, well balanced and fresh Chardonnay from the sun-kissed vineyards that lie close to Carcassone in the Languedoc. Overseen by the highly regarded Alain Grignon, he has made a peach and apple blossom flavoured dry white with a delightful citrus tang!
Ripe pear and white flowers dominate in this elegant and appealing Gavi di Gavi. Wine is the lifeblood of the quiet town of Gavi, nestled snugly in the South Eastern corner of Piedmont in Northern Italy. Here, the Cortese grape flourishes on fossil-rich soils, which are ideal for the production of white grapes. Pretty and perfumed with notes of grapefruit
Made in the cool Leyda valley from a single block of 40 year old vines, this is a forward, ripe and deeply fruit-driven style of Pinot, showing rich damson and sensual cherry fruit, a touch of leather and balanced oak. Soft and open in style with a long integrated and warming finish
100% Cabernet Franc, made by the redoubtable Marilyn Lassarre at her boutique estate near Narbonne in the warm Languedoc. A lifelong fan of Cab Franc, this wine recently won the prestigious 'Wine Merchants top 50' wines of 2016
This small winery is setting standards far above the norm in Chile. Ex Concha y Toro winemaker Alvaerez Hernandez makes this rich, compact and concentrated Merlot from selected lots of Merlot grapes that grow unirrigated in the warm Rapel and Central Valleys. Judicious use of oak adds structure and 'grip' on the long finish
Dark rich and full bodied with layers if ripe black fruits, coffee and pepper. Made by the acclaimed wine 'Guru' Alain Grignon from older bush-trained vines that ripen in the heat of the Languedoc near Narbonne
Full, yet elegant red with buckets of juicy blackcurrant character from the Central Valley, Chile's classic region for Cabernet Sauvignon. Chile has developed a reputation in recent years for exceptionally high quality Cabernet Sauvignon. El Campasino especial illustrates this;fruit-driven with spicy pepper, blackcurrant and herbaceous notes, this Cabernet blend is long and full, yet with a restrained, elegant finish
Crisp, steely and delicate with a nice touch of stewed strawberry and cherry
Basically this is Meursault from younger vines and a vineyard just on the appellation boundary
Rich creamy and oak-laden with complexity and nervy freshness
A sumptuous style of Kiwi Chardonnay, made very much in the classic Burgundian style, albeit it with more weight and tropical fruit punch
Peter's favourite from all the recent tastings – big, fat and unctuous with lots of buttery fruit and oak
the finest producer in Macon – great wine now mature!

An outstanding Syrah from the cool Golan heights winery! Its rich peppery, smoky fruit is reminiscent of a top Rhone, whilst beneath its dark interior lies a core of dense jammy New World fruit. Very, very good stuff!

A spicy red made from younger Grenache vines at the home estate of the Brunier family, owners of the mighty Château Vieux Telegraphe in Chateauneuf du Pape!

a parcel of rare 85 yo Carignan –hand picked, blended with small quantities of Syrah and Grenache – smoky, berry fruit – very juicy
45% Cabernet, 35% Merlot and 20% Malbec
50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Franc
Fresh, tangy and complex with notes of flowers, grass and citrus
(Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc) ....and a wee touch of oak!
(Vermentino, Viognier, Macabeo and Chardonnay) – Tastes like a cross between white Châteauneuf and White Burgundy
(Gros manseng, petit manseng, petit courbu) Irouléguy is a tiny appellation, about as far southwest as you can go in France. Jean Claude, former chief wine maker at world famous Petrus, has decided to come home to the Basque country. Never heard of these grapes? Well be adventourous, they are used in the production of wines from the Juraron. Absolutely fabulous! A very aromatic wine with floral and nutty aromas. A flavourful mouth and finísh. Beautiful match to a simple meal of chicken. Fantastic!
This is a vintage Tawny Port, only made by the Portuguese Houses. Colheita is an amber/tawny colour, nutty with overtones of raisined caramel. Quite delicious!

30% Cabernet, 40% Merlot and 30% Cabernet France
Winner, red wine trophy, IWC 2008, Double Gold, China Wine Awards 2011
Has won more awards than you can shake a boomerang at – let's just say it has beaten Chateau Petrus twice in blind tastings
We said we would not add any notes but this wine needs some explanation as it's not your normal Chenin. This is an exceptionally thick and yellow wine with very small hints of Botrytis – not in the Sauternes or Eiswein style, but in its own fat dry style. This must be the closest you get to liquid gold. It is chewy, syrupy and very powerful. Now you've been warned!
