I was invited by a friend to dinner. I wanted something refreshing, so I ordered the shiroyaki rice. I had the shiroyaki eel with wasabi soy sauce, which was very tasty and a perfect match between the sweetness of the rich fat of the eel and the crisp flavor of the wasabi. It tasted different from the sweet sauce, but the wasabi soy sauce also tasted good enough to go with the rice.
