Winner of the 2017 Monde Selection Gold Award! This Western-style castella uses fermented butter, rice flour, and wasanbon sugar without any additives.
"It's castella, but not really castella" is a common remark from our customers. Utilizing the training I received at three-star restaurants in Paris and Tokyo, I have evolved traditional Japanese castella into a Western-style castella made without additives. Please enjoy this new castella. It comes in a 0.75 loaf size, with 10 cuts. - Box dimensions (internal): 270×86×63. This product won a gold medal at the Monde Selection for the first time in 2017. Unlike traditional Japanese castella, it is baked at high temperatures for a short time, resulting in a fluffy texture while retaining the flavor of the coarse sugar. - We are particular about all ingredients and manufacture the entire process by hand. - This Western-style castella features the rich aroma of fermented butter, the gentle sweetness of wasanbon sugar, and an accent of coarse sugar. By using rice flour, it offers a unique texture not found in traditional Japanese castella. [Ingredients] Chicken eggs (domestic), wasanbon sugar, butter, sugar, rice flour, wheat flour, syrup. *No additives. *No sweeteners, preservatives, antioxidants, leavening agents, flavorings, colorings, or emulsifiers used. [Storage method] Before opening: Room temperature (avoid direct sunlight and high humidity). *It is recommended to store in the refrigerator from June to September.
