It was a stylish barbecue restaurant just a 5-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station. It seems to be quite famous among BTS fans. We went there as a group of three, and the lunch prices were incredibly reasonable with the following dishes:
- Slightly spicy miso stew: 13,000W
- Yukhoe bibimbap: 21,000W
- Beef bone soup: 15,000W
The taste was also top-notch! Personally, I found the yukhoe bibimbap, miso stew, and squid kimchi to be extremely delicious. We also tried the gelato from the attached dessert shop, Blue Polar, and it was delicious as well! As expected, the quality of the restaurants in Apgujeong is high. I will definitely go again!
A hidden gem in Seoul, truly a 'Symphony of Gastronomy'
I visited the Michelin one-star French restaurant 'Kang Minchul' located in the Gangnam district. Chef Kang Minchul has over ten years of experience in America, Hong Kong, and France since moving to France at the age of 24, honing his skills at the restaurants of the three great masters: Joel Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, and Pierre Gagnaire. His expertise was evident throughout the entire course.
The concept of this restaurant is 'Symphonic Cuisine.' The menu is structured like musical movements, with sections titled 'Movement 1,' 'Movement 2,' 'Finale,' and 'Encore,' creating an experience where each dish builds upon the melody.
The private room we dined in had a beautiful interior, providing a calm and special atmosphere. Every dish was of high quality, and the following points particularly stood out.
Movement 1 began with an amuse-bouche, followed by caviar, peach shrimp (bisque with herb oil), scallops (with beets), and lobster (with mango vinaigrette), presenting a light and vibrant prelude. One of the most interesting dishes was 'Caviar Redefined.' It featured three types of caviar: Kristal, Baerii, and Osietre Gros Grain, allowing us to compare them by size, color, and flavor, and I was amazed at how different the expressions of the same caviar could be. This dish perfectly reflected the restaurant's philosophy of 'reinterpreting tradition from a modern perspective.'
Movement 2 included fish (with mushroom bouillon and truffle), duck breast, and Korean beef sirloin (with citrus sabayon and tomato), leading to a richer and deeper development. Following the finale of vanilla bean, the encore included canelé, coffee choux, mandarin jelly, and even tea and coffee, leaving no room for any flaws until the very end.
The service was professional, leaving a lingering feeling as if we had just finished a performance. Although it is difficult to make a reservation at this restaurant, it is well worth it. I wholeheartedly recommend it for anniversaries or special meals in Seoul.
