When I stop by after returning from the mountain pass, I feel relieved by the spacious interior of the shop and the view of the sea from the window. The ashitaba cold soba I ordered was a vibrant green color, and I was surprised by its light texture. Sprinkling a little bit of green chili powder on the accompanying island nori and tempura adds a nice spicy accent. The freshly grilled rice balls are fragrant, and the flavor that seeps into the rice is superb. The tempura and grilled fish are also served warm, and I was satisfied with whatever I chose. I can relax with a cup of tea by the shichirin (a small charcoal grill), which quickly blows away the fatigue from hiking.
