LAST SCENE is a hidden café located in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto, offering a unique world view. The antique decorations and movie posters inside invite visitors into another realm. The entrance is quiet, but when you open the door, you are greeted by retro posters and old knick-knacks, creating a space that feels like you've wandered into a scene from a movie. The lunch plate chosen from the wall display features multigrain rice topped with a colorful array of salads and gently seasoned side dishes, instantly lifting your spirits just by looking at it. The main pork dish is unbelievably tender, with the savory aroma of miso and just the right amount of fat that keeps calling for more rice. I also tried the ketchup omelet rice with a hint of Sichuan pepper, and the spicy aroma and sweet-sour flavor were exquisite, providing surprises with every bite. Additionally, the miso soup infused with the umami of pork and the salad sprinkled with chips show thoughtful attention to detail that brings joy. Thanks to the spacious table arrangement and the background music of Showa pop, I think it's a wonderful place where you can relax and forget about time.
