Handmade Soba Tavern Open Late into the Night

Located on Oya Fukou Street in Hachijo Island, 'Sannenmoku wa Kentai-ki' is a soba tavern where you can enjoy dishes made with local ingredients, centered around freshly made soba. The menu features tempura made with ashitaba and sea breeze shiitake mushrooms, as well as fresh kampachi sashimi, and the rich-textured zarusoba is particularly popular as a finishing dish.

At a soba tavern located at a corner of the Unfilial Street, music plays, creating a fun atmosphere. There are counter seats, and I feel excited to see the local shochu lined up. The in-house made soba is smooth and aromatic, perfect for the last cup. The tempura of ashitaba and the tempura of sea breeze shiitake mushrooms are crispy and allow you to enjoy the flavors of the island. Udon is also available, and mixing it with mentaiko butter while eating pairs well with the seaweed and green onions. The sashimi of kanpachi and chicken harami are also impressive, and I was able to enjoy a comfortable time with Wi-Fi available.
