High-quality yakiniku within walking distance of Umeda, where the tongue and halami are too good to be true. | Kitanimeshi.com Restaurant Information Located just between Nakatsu Station on the Hankyu and Midosuji Lines, this restaurant overlooks the skyscrapers of Umeda. Yakiniku Maruyama is a place that makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. As a fan of deep-fried yakiniku, my tension was approaching its maximum at this point. Top Shio Tongue & Shio Harami The first two items I ordered were the shio-tan and the shio-harami. The shio-tan is priced at 2,145 yen. Shio Harami is 2,255 yen. Although not inexpensive, it will become clear later that the prices are not unreasonable. Kamishio Tongue Let's start with the shio-tan, which is cut into long, thin strips. We feel it is not the type that looks good on Instagram, but the balance between the meat and the sashi is exquisite and beautiful. We carefully cooked it so as not to overcook it, and when it was slightly cooked, we pulled it out. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the salt and pepper were just the right amount. The salt and pepper are just right. Shio Harami Unlike tongue, one side is grilled slowly, and the meat is pulled out when it is slightly charred. Harami is popular for its pleasant chewiness, but Yakiniku Maruyama's harami also has fat like sirloin. The fat is not heavy, but smooth and sweet. It is delicious. Tsurumi I almost asked again, "Is this a bonefish?" I almost asked again. Most restaurants serve the tsurumi in slices, but the one at "Yakiniku Maruyama" is as thick as a halami. I had never had such a thick lamb, and since I did not know how to grill it, I carefully cooked it and served it. The chewy texture made me want to drink sake, and the red umami, as if it were a rare piece of thigh meat, made me fainting in agony. ■Price 14,000 yen (for two people) This is the price without alcohol, as we were under a state of emergency. It is not cheap, but considering the quality of the food, I have no complaints. The price is about 10,000 yen per person including alcohol.
