The menu is very extensive, offering choices of chicken, pork, beef, vegetables, tofu, noodles, rice dishes, and even dim sum. There is a warmth from the handmade dishes, and the natural umami makes it easy to keep eating. The shrimp chili has a nice bounce to the shrimp, and the seasoning is strong and delicious. The stamina noodles are packed with stir-fried pork, bean sprouts, cabbage, wood ear mushrooms, and garlic shoots, which pair well with the soy sauce-based soup. The dan dan noodles have a stronger soy sauce flavor than sesame, and the balance of umami and spiciness from the dried shrimp and pickled mustard greens makes it easy to drink. The shumai is a specialty, and I’m glad it’s served in a steamer.
