While walking through the thatched-roof village, I found a small café with a rustic atmosphere. The menu features only three traditional items: soba dumpling soup, rice ball set, and tochi mochi zenzai, making it easy to choose. The tochi mochi zenzai has a gentle sweetness, and the chewy mochi filled with fragrant tochi nuts is simply the best. The soba dumpling soup is filled with plenty of homegrown vegetables, and the clear broth has a comforting flavor. Even the side dishes, such as the myoga (ginger) ohitashi and the sesame-coated potatoes, are carefully prepared, making me feel the warmth of their hospitality. The owner handed me a small origami T-shirt, making my travel memories even warmer.
