Exquisite sushi to enjoy in front of Mobara Station

Sakura Sushi is a takeout-only sushi restaurant located in front of Mobara Station. The sushi, crafted by a chef with 50 years of experience, features thick cuts of fish and large, satisfying nigiri. The ikura (salmon roe) and toro (fatty tuna) are particularly outstanding and beloved by many customers. A local favorite, this establishment is known for its homemade tamago (egg) and kanpyo maki (gourd roll).

This sushi restaurant, located just a short walk from the station, offers freshly made sushi prepared by skilled chefs right after you place your order. Both the rice and the toppings are generous in portion, providing a satisfying experience with every bite. The vinegared rice made from Sasanishiki rice from Miyagi Prefecture has a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness, which beautifully complements the thick slices of fish. In particular, the medium fatty tuna and fatty tuna had just the right amount of fat that melted in your mouth, pairing excellently with the aroma of wasabi. The large egg and rolls are also substantial, allowing you to savor them more as a meal rather than just a snack. I felt that this is a beloved local spot that can be enjoyed casually, whether for takeout or in the small dining area.
