The shop located in the old townscape of Ouchi-juku has a very nice atmosphere. Once you enter, there are an irori (traditional hearth), a Buddhist altar, and a Shinto shelf, making you feel relaxed as if you have come to an old house. The handmade soba noodles are thin and have a good texture, with a simple and delicious flavor. You can mix in plenty of green onions, grated daikon, bonito flakes, and seaweed, and enjoy it smoothly with a refreshing dipping sauce. Eating while biting into a long green onion is also an interesting style and becomes a memorable part of the trip. When you take your seat, pickles are served, and I felt it was a thoughtful touch with their nice crunchy texture.
