When you open the door, you enter a cozy space centered around the counter, and even though it's almost full, the owner moves around briskly and is quite reliable. Thanks to the unpretentious service, you can relax immediately even if it's your first time. The sashimi platter is incredibly fresh, and the grilled fish like Spanish mackerel and Pacific saury are so fragrant that I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The tempura of seasonal vegetables, fried right in front of you, has a thin, crispy batter, and the slight bitterness of the fiddlehead ferns is exquisite. The hamburger grilled over charcoal has a strong meaty flavor, and the light seasoning keeps it from feeling heavy until the end. When paired with freshly cooked rice from a traditional pot and sake served in a wine glass, it fills both your stomach and heart with happiness.

In a cozy little shop centered around a calm counter, the impression is that the owner manages everything efficiently on their own. The sashimi is quickly plated right in front of you, highlighting the aroma of the grilled fish and its freshness. The hamburgers and anago (conger eel) grilled over charcoal allow you to enjoy the sounds and smells of the cooking process. Dishes featuring seasonal vegetables, such as tempura and wakatake-ni (young bamboo shoots simmered), have a light batter and broth, allowing you to fully appreciate the flavors of the ingredients. The fluffy white rice cooked in a traditional earthen pot further enhances the dishes. Conversations with the friendly owner are pleasant, and I was able to relax while savoring sake from a wine glass.
