This is a cozy little shop centered around a counter, located in a hideaway-like place. The large plates of obanzai displayed in front of me are all appealing, and just looking at them is enjoyable. The first dish served, a clear soup, is warm and has a gentle aroma of bamboo shoots. The signature whale dish, both the sashimi and bacon, is rich in umami and has a smooth texture. The nanohana (rapeseed) ohitashi and chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) are seasoned just right, making it hard to put down my chopsticks. The bottled beer is chilled all the way to the glass, making it refreshing to enjoy.
