A traditional tea shop to enjoy the aroma and flavor

Imagawa Gyokouen Tea Shop is a long-established tea house in Onomichi, founded in the 11th year of the Meiji era. Known for its fragrant green tea and Onomichi black tea, which are praised for their low astringency and relaxing qualities. The interior exudes a nostalgic atmosphere, conveying the history and charm of tea to its visitors. You can enjoy teas made from carefully selected leaves sourced from all over Japan.

At a traditional tea shop, the pleasant aroma of roasted tea wafts from the storefront, lifting my spirits. The interior has a calm atmosphere, and the staff carefully explains the characteristics of the tea. A cup that combines green tea with a bit of matcha is smooth, with almost no bitterness, and is very delicious. The Earl Grey from Onomichi black tea turns a jewel-like red when steeped for a while, and its fragrance is splendid. The candy tea leaves have a mild astringency, making them enjoyable both straight and iced. There are cans with cat illustrations, tea bags, and loose leaf options available, making the selection process enjoyable.
