As you progress along the mountain path in Gujo, there is a calm Japanese restaurant with a fragrant aroma wafting through the air. You can see the chef carefully grilling eel over the counter, which is exciting. The eel rice bowl has a crispy, fragrant surface, while the inside is fluffy and tender, with the sauce gently soaking in, making it the best. The grilled sweetfish has a firm texture and rich fat, with a subtle bitterness that lingers, and it was served almost immediately. When enjoyed with the liver soup, the umami flavors overlap, making it impossible to put down the chopsticks. Even the finishing strawberry gelato was not skimped on, and by the time I left, my heart was also filled.
