Enjoy the Deliciousness of Wild Ayu in a Historic Setting
This restaurant allows you to savor wild ayu while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Nagara River. They prepare the ayu using a unique method that maximizes its deliciousness. Experience a special moment in this historic location, where every visit brings new discoveries in a charming atmosphere.
The restaurant is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The small flowers on the tables and the glass lamps are lovely, and the long fishing rods on the walls catch the eye. The chicken is well-soaked in Gujo miso, and the flavors of the eggplant and onions come through nicely. The Hida beef wrapped in magnolia leaves has a pleasant aroma, and the meat is tender with a hint of sweetness. The set meal with sweetfish was satisfying with three pieces. The impression of the staff is also good, making for a pleasant dining experience.

The menu only lists the names of the ingredients, and the excitement of waiting for the dishes to arrive is enjoyable. I felt that the dishes were gentle and suited to the body, allowing me to taste the local blessings in various forms. The dish featuring corn and the plate with river fish paired with a fragrant sauce particularly left an impression on me. The item labeled 'rice' turned out to be a dessert made with rice and persimmon, which made me smile. The atmosphere of the open kitchen is pleasant, and the attentive service is appreciated. The drinks are also surprising, with creative non-alcoholic pairings using tea and beverages that evoke the scent of deer.

There are also local specialties like Hida beef, Oku-Mino chicken, and eel, which are fun to grill over charcoal. The sliding door private room design is calming, and you can enjoy a variety of flavors, leaving you satisfied.

In search of bear cuisine, I found 'Darumaya'. The bear meat was chewy but not gamey, and although it was sukiyaki, it was very delicious. The deer meat yukhoe that I ordered on a whim was also normally tasty. The prices are reasonable, so I would like to recommend it to those looking for game.

They guided us to a counter seat, and my child was so happy! ♡ They were very kind, and of course, the dango was super delicious! ♩ They also told us about another dango shop, so I think I'll try to go there! The view from the counter was nice too! ♡
