There are many dried goods lined up, and just looking at them is enjoyable. Ito kanten can be used just by soaking it in water, and it tastes great in salads. It melts easily when added after cooking in a hot pot, so it's fun to think of different ways to use it. Inside the store, you can experience making shichimi (seven spice blend) and mix seasonings according to your preferences. It's easy to understand the process of mixing a little bit of sesame, sansho pepper, ito aonori (green seaweed), and roasted chili pepper, and checking the flavor with dashi broth. I'm happy that I can pack the finished shichimi into a jar to take home, and I ended up with a wonderfully aromatic jar.
