A homely tempura and soba restaurant where you can enjoy Okinawan flavors
Esu no Hana is a cozy establishment that offers Japanese soba and tempura infused with Okinawan flavors. It features a unique style where freshly harvested vegetables from their own garden are used, and tempura is served piping hot, one after another. Guests can enjoy a variety of Okinawan ingredients, from goya and mozuku to more unusual options like banana and papaya. With warm hospitality, it is certainly a place worth visiting.
The tempura was delicious! We had a 7 year old and 4 year old with us, and the kids were chomping at the bit. There are three zashiki tables and two or three tables. One of the tables can seat 8 to 10 people. There were four of us at one table and we shared a table with two other guests. The other was a tatami room with a sofa. The rest of the tatami rooms are smaller tatami tables. By the way, there were no chairs for children, just FYI. The menu is only Soba and Udon ➕ Tempura. I don't know what the situation is like on weekdays, but on weekends and holidays, it is better to make a reservation because there is a long wait if you come to the restaurant on a day off. Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to sit in a tatami room.
I had hibiscus tempura and banana tempura for the first time and they were delicious! Of course, the other tempura were crispy and delicious as well. I had them with salt and deep-fried tofu sauce, both of which were delicious!
Since it was Golden Week, it was a good decision to make a reservation.
I was told that the menu was limited to soba or udon because of the holiday, but I wonder if there are other options available normally?
On the wall, it only lists soba (with tempura) for 1000 yen and udon (with tempura) in large, medium, and small sizes.
The soba has a strong soba aroma and is incredibly delicious.
However, it was a bit lukewarm. I prefer it to be chilled a bit more.
As rumored, the tempura of wild vegetables kept coming out. The tempura is not Okinawan tempura; it has a thin batter and is light and crispy. Of course, some items have a thicker batter, but overall, it can be eaten in a light and crispy manner.
That said, since it's fried food, my stomach started to feel heavy after a while...
I don't know how many types there are, but as long as you're seated, it seems like they will keep serving you indefinitely.
However, since it was Golden Week and many customers without reservations were visiting, the staff gently hinted at not lingering too long.
So, the tempura ended up feeling a bit insufficient, but I was quite satisfied because the soba was delicious.
Next time, I want to go on a weekday or a non-holiday and ask if they have large portions of soba so I can try the large serving.

I saw it on a TV program and decided to go there when I visited Okinawa, so my family and I visited there because we could make a reservation. We had both soba and udon. My child said the Soba was very tasty and he ate it easily. Tempura was served freshly fried and we had burdock, bitter gourd, banana, eggplant, carrot, chives, and I forget what else. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and we had a great time chatting with the local customers. We will be back again!

We were grateful to the wife who bowed down many times and the staff who still served us as much as they could. The soba and tempura were both delicious.
The taste of the soba was delicious, and I was surprised by the speed at which the tempura was served, haha. I felt happy, with my stomach and heart both satisfied.
It was delicious soba and tempura. Tempura came out without stopping unless you said "stop". I would rather stop and take home the leftovers than leave them. Thank you very much.
We had many different kinds of tempura. Banana and pineapple tempura for dessert were also delicious. The main dish of soba noodles was smooth, firm, and delicious. Everyone who was there seemed to be enjoying themselves in a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely like to come back again. Thank you very much for a wonderful time.
