In a calm, Showa-era style interior, I was able to leisurely enjoy freshly fried tempura. A platter of shrimp, squid, shiitake mushrooms, eggplant, bell peppers, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes was served, and each piece was crispy and fragrant. There were many small dishes lined up, allowing me to enjoy a good balance of vinegared dishes, simmered dishes, and salads, which was delightful. The steaming large bowl of rice and miso soup with tofu paired perfectly with the tempura, making it hard to put down my chopsticks. The couple warmly welcomed me, and I felt comforted by the warmth of the stove and the light tea. I thoroughly enjoyed coffee and small sweets after the meal, leaving both my stomach and heart very satisfied.
