As a long-established business founded in the Meiji era, I felt a sense of excitement as I passed through the noren (curtain). The first floor has a new and refreshing atmosphere, and it was enjoyable to look at the displayed swan dishes and processed products from Niigata. The lunch set I ordered, consisting of one soup and ten dishes, featured local flavors such as simmered vegetables, noppe (a type of stew), and grilled salmon marinated in soy sauce, all of which had a gentle taste. Among them, I particularly liked the sesame-marinated sea bream and the fluffy omelet, which made me want to eat more rice. After the meal, I enjoyed a cup of coffee served in a metal double cup, which allowed me to savor the aroma until the last sip thanks to its heat retention. On my way back, I found an egg sandwich at the station, and the sweet dashi and spicy mustard mayonnaise were exquisite, allowing me to finish it in no time on the train.
