A short walk from JR Kawaguchi Station, there is a cozy little shop where you can enjoy curry and craft beer. The large owner, contrary to his appearance, is very friendly and made me feel at ease even as a first-time visitor. This time, I ordered a combination of chicken curry and niboshi dashi keema, and I was very satisfied with the strong aroma of spices and concentrated umami. In the center, there was a mound of reddish long-grain rice, and the side dish of achar added a nice accent of flavor and texture, making it enjoyable. The daily specials, such as green curry with pork belly and coconut-flavored chicken, are also unique, and I love that there is always a new discovery each time. Pairing it with craft beer or a spiced highball creates a wonderful time where you can forget the hustle and bustle of the station.
