The simple, mountain cabin-style interior has a warmth of wood, and I felt at ease the moment I entered. From the tatami seating, the view is excellent, allowing me to slowly relax from the fatigue of my walk. The zaru soba was fragrant and had a smooth texture that made me eat it eagerly. The yamakake soba had a gentle flavor of dashi, combined with the taste of yam, creating a bowl that made me feel connected to nature. The shiitake pickles and sweet burdock served with the soba were a nice accent, making it hard to put down my chopsticks. The sweet chestnut compote I had after the meal was also elegantly sweet, making for a satisfying meal until the very end.
