Choujuan is a unique establishment where soba and izakaya dishes coexist. Here, you can enjoy soba that is smooth and chewy, with the kake soba being particularly recommended. Additionally, the izakaya offerings, such as simmered offal, are surprisingly delicious and can be enjoyed alongside the soba. In the well-maintained interior, you can spend a pleasant time in a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere.

This shop, located in a calm area by the river, exudes a warm atmosphere unique to family-run businesses. The soba and udon, carefully prepared by an elderly couple, have a great texture, and the flavor of the broth is rich and satisfying. The set menu is hearty, complete with rice and small side dishes, ensuring you leave feeling full. I chose the soba set meal that comes with tanuki soba, and I was very satisfied to enjoy a fried egg and chilled tofu as well. There are also tatami seating areas up the stairs, which is nice for relaxing comfortably. I was able to spend a cozy time while gazing at old football photos displayed on the wall.
