Sitting at the counter, I was excited to see the chef skillfully preparing dishes right in front of me. The assorted sashimi was all fresh, and the mackerel, with just the right amount of fat, melted in my mouth. The chicken nanban, fried to perfection, had a crispy coating that paired wonderfully with the creamy tartar sauce. The hot beef skirt steak on the iron plate combined tender meat with the sweetness of vegetables, making it impossible to put my chopsticks down. There was a variety of fried items, including chicken wings and homemade satsuma-age, with sweet and spicy sauce and grated daikon providing a nice accent. The warm atmosphere of the restaurant attracted regulars, and it was so comfortable that I felt at home even as a first-time visitor.
