The atmosphere of the Showa era is pleasant in this shop, making it easy to feel at home even for first-time visitors. The welcoming owner is cheerful, which lifts the mood from the start. The handmade appetizers are wonderful, with carefully prepared dishes such as duck roast with a smoky aroma, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), vinegared miso with rapeseed flowers, boiled shrimp, and simmered wheat gluten. The agedashi tofu has a crispy top and absorbs the broth at the bottom, creating a delightful contrast in texture. The braised pork belly, meat tofu, and pork with eggplant miso all have a good balance of flavors, and the meat is tender. Choosing from the menu written on strips of paper is exciting, and the warmth of the couple running the shop makes it a calm and enjoyable experience.
