I had wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and my wish came true this time. I had originally wanted to have an a la carte meal including a bowl of rice, but I couldn't because it was nighttime, The lady at the restaurant was very nice and the food was very tasty. Thank you very much. I would be happy to have rice dishes in the evening as well.

It has been about 5 years since I last visited Torijaya Bettei in Kagurazaka. This time, it was an important day to celebrate a reunion with relatives after 3 years, so we decided to go to the same restaurant we used before. When I used this restaurant before, everything was wonderful and I was very impressed. When I entered the entrance, I was greeted by an elderly woman dressed in what looked like a samue (Japanese traditional Japanese work clothes). When I told her that I had made a reservation, she showed me around bluntly. This elderly woman's response was extremely rude, as if she was trying to be selective or condescending to her customers. I don't know if she was uncomfortable with my casual attire or not, but it was obvious that she was intentionally and deliberately trying to make the guests uncomfortable. I took off my shoes and left them in the shoe box, but when my boots were shoved into the shoe box so roughly, I felt extremely uncomfortable. We were shown to a Japanese-style room on the second floor, which was elegantly decorated like a ryokan (Japanese inn), and the female staff in kimonos were courteous and excellent in their hospitality. We ordered an oyakodon set and three drinks and spent about two hours there, but it was so comfortable that we forgot about the time. The oyakodon was really delicious, but I thought a large portion would be just right for a man. Considering the quality of the food at this location and the excellent service provided by the female staff in kimonos in the Japanese-style room upstairs, the cost-performance ratio is truly excellent. I think the clientele was also really good. I came here in casual clothes this time, but I personally thought that dressy, formal, and beautiful clothes would be better for this restaurant. When I was paying the bill on my way home, that unfriendly woman in samue at the reception desk returned my shoes that I had left with her, but she (1) violently returned my boots to me as if she was going to throw them away. (1) She returned my boots roughly as if she was going to throw them. (2) She roughly returned my umbrella as if she was holding it against my chest. (3) When I paid the bill, the three of us paid 9,480 yen, but she didn't even try to give me a receipt, just slammed the money down on the tray and gave me back my change. When we left the restaurant, we asked, "What is that? How did you ever get a job here with that kind of work? I said to him as if he could hear me and left the store. The elderly woman at the reception desk was the worst, but other than that, I gave her a perfect score. I would have given her a perfect score, but I'm going to leave it at that. Everything else was excellent. If I were asked if I would use this store again, I would definitely do so, but next time, if that woman is rude again, I will deal directly with her and give her a hard time.

The lunch was good so we had the course at night for the first time and my impression was as rated. The appetizers were already served before we arrived at our table, and although they were fried, they were cold and therefore lost their deliciousness. I feel bad for the person who prepared the dish to have it served cold when it was so deliciously prepared. Also, the quality of the customer service was low. I don't know if we were taken for fools because we went with foreigners, but they were not friendly and did not explain about the food. I was surprised at this. They didn't pour more water even though it was running out...I was honestly disappointed!
