I found a Taiwanese restaurant at the edge of Chinatown, and the atmosphere is cozy. The Lu Rou Fan has a hint of star anise in the minced meat, and the pickled mustard greens pair perfectly with the rice. The noodles in the thick soup have a taste of the sea, with clams, offal, and herbs adding accents. It's fun to customize the flavor with black vinegar, garlic, and spicy miso. Soup and pickles are also served, providing a good overall balance and a sense of satisfaction. The dessert, Agyo-chi, has a refreshing honey lemon flavor that cleanses the palate.
