In a charming building in Chofu, you can be healed by a quiet Japanese space. The stone pavement and lanterns continue from the entrance, and the modest yet elegant appearance is lovely. After being guided and enjoying some tea, you can relax in a spacious tatami room. The meal includes small bowls, hassun (a seasonal platter), sashimi, and chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), followed by a covered dish, rice, red miso soup, and dessert, all of which are satisfying. The squid sashimi is sweet and leaves a lasting impression. You can also enjoy fugu (pufferfish) dishes and teppanyaki, fully experiencing the unique flavors of Chofu.

As rumored, it was fully booked that day without a reservation. I'm glad I made a reservation in advance. The chicken skin was very crispy, and the offal in the tonchan hot pot had no odor at all. It was clear that the chef was carefully preparing each dish. It was worth the trip all the way from Osaka.

As I walk along the river, I am drawn in by the warm lights, and my heart races even before I enter. The moment I open the door, I am captivated by the chandelier that fills the ceiling and the tasteful furniture and clocks. The good old design blends harmoniously with the Japanese atmosphere, creating a calming space. In the attached café, I can enjoy drinks served in Limoges and Fire-King tableware. The seating where you can relax without shoes and the terrace beyond the window are comfortable, allowing for a leisurely time. The baked banana, combined with fragrant caramel and cold ice cream, was incredibly delicious and brought me great happiness.

In a restaurant filled with the aroma of spices, you can enjoy your meal slowly. The spinach and chicken green curry is creamy and pairs well with both naan and roti. The lamb, boiled egg, and tomato curry is rich and satisfying with its layered flavors. The chicken tikka served on a hot plate has a wonderful aroma, and its taste expands with each bite. The sweet and sour lassi and mango lassi, as well as the hot milk tea, are easy to drink and invigorating. The staff are friendly, and in a calming atmosphere suitable for solo diners, they respond attentively to requests for adjusting spiciness and refilling naan.
