Authentic Okinawan Cuisine and Awamori in a Resort Setting

Opened in 2024 within the Shigira Resort, this Ryukyu izakaya allows guests to leisurely enjoy classic Okinawan dishes such as island garlic, rafute (braised pork belly), and champuru (stir-fried dishes). The restaurant is also popular for its creative presentations, including fresh mībai sashimi and hot taco rice with cheese grilled at the table, ensuring high satisfaction in both volume and flavor. The bright and clean interior, along with attentive service typical of a resort, enhances the evening with a diverse selection of awamori.

The new Okinawan izakaya located within Shigira Resort has an exciting resort-like appearance. The interior is clean with ample seating, and there are private rooms where you can relax. Dishes like island garlic chives and sea grapes salad, and rafute (braised pork belly) are all delicious, and the Yachimun pottery looks great. The white fish, Mebai, has a thick and firm texture that is irresistible. The somen champuru (stir-fried somen noodles) packed with shrimp and vegetables, and the taco rice with cheese grilled at the table were also enjoyable. With an Orion draft beer and Miyakojima awamori in hand, I was satisfied with the attentive service from the staff, making for a pleasant experience throughout.
