Isshou Mochi is approximately 1.8 kilograms and costs 2,625 yen. Made from selected rice (Miyakogane), the rice is pounded and shaped into a rectangular shape, with the character for longevity written in red food coloring. It is a tradition to have a child wear the Isshou Mochi on their first birthday to pray for their safe growth. It is also known as Isshou Mochi or Tanjou Mochi.
