A cozy, traditional izakaya

Kanariya is a calm izakaya with a nostalgic atmosphere, located a short walk from the Takanobashi shopping street. Inside, you can enjoy hearty dishes ranging from fresh seafood to homemade croquettes. The drink selection is abundant, making it easy to indulge a little too much. Loved by locals, this establishment is perfect for a variety of occasions.

The traditional and calm atmosphere is pleasant. There is a long counter and tables, and the second floor seems suitable for gatherings. The sashimi platter chosen from the recommendations on the wall was particularly impressive with the marinated mackerel and scallops. Freshly made dishes kept coming out, and the rolled omelet, fried chicken gizzards, and lotus root tempura were all fragrant. The potato salad, with chunky potatoes, eggs, and ham, was irresistible. Together with a well-chilled draft beer, I was able to slowly enjoy the vinegared dishes and the simmered beef tendon.
